To celebrate veterans, first responders, and other heroes, Woodlands Eco Realty owner is giving a portion of each commission she makes back to them

Priyanka Johri, the owner of Woodlands Eco Realty, recently announced a new initiative called Operation Houses for Our Heroes, where community heroes are given special deals and money back on each house bought or sold by them.

Johri is well known throughout Montgomery County for her charitable involvement in the community; she also runs Pure Mutts Animal Sanctuary – a safe haven for elderly and special needs dogs – and is a fixture at numerous community events and local charities.

Inspired by the community spirit she experienced this past Memorial Day, she announced the new program to help and give back to active and retired members of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and National Guard, as well as other members of the Department of Defense and military spouses.

“For buyers, my lender partner and I help these worthy people obtain a zero-percent down payment loan though the Veterans Administration, and pay for the inspection, appraisal, and home warranty from my side of the gross commission when they buy or sell a house through me,” said Johri, who has been serving the real estate needs of local residents and businesses for the past ten years.

For qualifying sellers, Johri is offering free surveys and home warranties, as well as returning 10 percent of her commission to the seller to go towards the closing cost as a credit at the time of closing.

“The Home for Heroes program is designed to help our heroes buy a home with no money down and a minimal cost at closing,” said Johri. “It evolved from my strong desire to say ‘thank you’ to our community heroes in a way they can fully benefit from.” Johri has performed many other acts of appreciation, including last year’s Love Matters event for local police officers after the shooting in Dallas. She encourages qualifying military members and their families to contact her to start work as soon as possible to take care of their housing needs.
