UB40’s Bigga Baggariddim Tour – with The Original Wailers featuring Al Anderson, Maxi Priest & Big Mountain! UB40, legendary reggae-pop band and four-time Grammy® nominees, will perform as the tour headliner. The band will perform its worldwide hit singles “Red Red Wine,” “Food for Thought,” “(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You,” and many more, in addition to songs from their most recent album, BIGGA BAGGARIDDIM.
Says Robin Campbell, “We’re so excited to finally be going back to America, after the hiatus caused by the pandemic. We can’t wait to feel the vibe and love of a live crowd in the states, and for all the UB40 fans to meet our new vocalist Matt as well. They can expect a phenomenal show. We’ll be sure to bring the party.”
Named after a British unemployment benefit form, their multiracial lineup reflected the working-class community their members came from. The band consolidated its street credibility with political topics appealing to dissatisfied youth. Their biggest success, however, came in Reggae covers of well-known pop music starting with Neil Diamond's "Red, Red, Wine," which became a huge hit, from their album of covers, "Labor of Love." Covers of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe" featuring the Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde, the Temptations' "The Way You Do the Things You Do," and Al Green's "Here I Am (Come and Take Me)" scored Top Ten singles. The group scored a huge hit in America with Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love," which was initially featured in the Sharon Stone film Sliver and spent seven weeks at number one.
