Principal Melissa Bolding finds her inner Snoopy. Assistant Principal Jackie Boyd jumps on the Magic School Bus as Ms. Frizzle

More vibrant than a dream…  Not scary like Halloween…Maybe reminiscent of falling down a rabbit hole in the storybook Alice in Wonderland! All these things came to mind while watching the diverse costumes from the Storybook Stroll at Colony Meadows Elementary this morning.  The students and teachers were encouraged to dress up as a character from a story book and they didn’t disappoint!  Rounding the corners of the halls were Harry Potters, Pinkaliciouses, Pikachus, various Super Heroes and Fairies galore.   And if you were wondering “where is Waldo”- you could have found him… three times!

All grades were welcome to participate and many took the opportunity to display their creativity.  The children and teachers who dressed up paraded in front of fellow students and parents. The students ended their parade back in their classroom to resume a regular school day.  Colony Meadows Elementary has taken many opportunities since the beginning of the school year to promote literacy.  With a lineup of activities like this one, plus a letter parade, book fair, storybook pumpkin decorating and a spelling bee, the message is clear, literacy is important and FUN!!
