Texans Can Academy - Houston North

Students from Texans Can Academy - Houston North visited Houston Community College North Forest Campus to learn more about the automotive and welding programs available on campus.

The high school took six students, who have been accepted to Houston Community College and are interested in obtaining a certification or associate degree in Welding or Automotive Technology, on the visit.

“We wanted our students to have the opportunity to see the campus they will be attending and to learn more about the program from instructors and current students so they can prepare before beginning the programs themselves,” said Marisa Bailey, Campus Transition Coordinator at Texans Can Academy - Houston North. “They are excited for the upcoming opportunity and to learn more about the industries and professions.”

The Campus Transition Coordinator for Texans Can Academies counsels students with their post-graduation college education or workforce career goals.

Requirements for each program and information regarding the increasing demand for skilled workers in both industries were explained to the students by instructors from Houston Community College North Forest Campus.
