When the safety of the United States is threatened, three Americans risk their lives to uncover and expose a global conspiracy to defraud the nation in an operation funded by war profiteering and illegal drug sales. The activities are sanctioned by the CIA, controlled by organized crime and laundered by Wall Street traders.

That’s the storyline of “Blood Profit$: The Lithium Conspiracy,” a political thriller written by James N. Patrick Sr. and J. Victor Tomaszek. Patrick, a Denton resident, will sell and sign copies of the novel 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Houston Authors Bash at Harmony Science Academy  - West Houston (22400 Grand Corner Dr. in Katy.)

He will be one of about 100 authors in attendance. The public is welcome.

Patrick, who co-owns Old Irish Bed & Breakfast - Wedding and  Event Center in Denton, is a first-time author. The book is published by Roundfire Books, and a sequel is planned.

“The characters are like many people the readers probably know, and they face ethical and moral decisions throughout the story,” Patrick stated in a press release.
