The Buckingham, premier senior living community in Houston, recently celebrated The Longest Day which is an annual fundraising event to support Alzheimer's Awareness Month and a call to action to fight Alzheimer's disease. It was a remarkable success, filled with activities and events that brought the community together to support the cause. Held on June 20, the day featured a lineup of engaging events and ended with a grand gala.

The day began with a silent auction showcasing stunning art pieces created by the community's talented memory care residents. The unique artworks not only highlighted the residents' creativity but also contributed significantly to the cause, with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Association. T-shirt sales were another highlight, with specially designed shirts promoting the Alzheimer’s Walk. These sales, along with a lively wine pull, added to the day's excitement while boosting fundraising efforts.

The day’s activities concluded with a formal gala held in The Buckingham’s Grand Ballroom. Residents and guests danced the night away to the tunes of a live jazz band, surrounded by beautiful purple decorations symbolizing Alzheimer’s awareness. The evening was further adorned with floral arrangements, with proceeds from these sales also supporting the Alzheimer’s Association.

The community’s dedication to making a difference was evident in the enthusiastic participation of all involved. The Buckingham raised nearly $3,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association, marking the event as a significant success in their ongoing efforts to support Alzheimer's research and awareness.
