In 1925, deep in the heart of Texas, 12 determined women founded The Junior League of Houston, Inc. with the mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. These women forged a path forward so that almost 100 years later, the Junior League’s outreach efforts still focus on critical issues. Today, in 2021, the Junior League of Houston is thriving, with deep roots and a vibrant presence in the community. This year, the Junior League’s members, patrons and donors will return home to the League after spending the past year apart. The 74th Annual Charity Ball: The Road Home will be held at 6pm on Friday, February 4, and Saturday, February 5, 2022.
To celebrate, Charity Ball will be filled with long-standing traditions like the annual Junior League member performance and exciting raffles such as the coveted Junior League parking space and a bottle of Blanton’s Bourbon. Tickets start at $500 and include a three-course gourmet meal, premium wine pairings, access to the silent auction and whiskey tastings. Guests will be able to bid on items such as live paintings during the event from Taft McWhorter, trips such as the unforgettable Kentucky Bourbon Trail or to beautiful Waikiki, diamonds from Diamonds Direct or timeless turquoise jewelry by Christina Greene. Attendees will also enjoy specialty cocktails and live music from The Grooves Friday evening and the Honky Tonk Revivalists Saturday evening. Charity Ball has been an integral source of funding for the Junior League’s Community Program and volunteer initiatives since 1949, and for nearly 100 years, the Junior League has been a key part of the philanthropic landscape across the Houston community. The Junior League of Houston continues to support the city of Houston and the hearts of those touched by the League’s volunteer service each day.
