Local community partners will help make dreams come true
On Friday, September 23, dreams will be coming true for a local disabilities rehabilitation program and their clients. The first annual T.E.A.M Abilities Prom will be held at Spring Creek Greenway Community Room, located at 1300 Riley Fuzzel Road from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. thanks to the support of many local community partners. Masquerade: A Night to Wonder is a special social dance event for the clients and their families of T.E.A.M. Abilities, Inc., a provider for individuals with developmental disabilities with facilities located in Houston and The Woodlands.
“The community support has been incredible. They have, without hesitation, opened their resources up to us to help pull off such a grand event. For that, we are truly grateful,” said Jennifer Hernandez, Executive Assistant at T.E.A.M Abilities. Members of the community that are sponsoring and supporting the event include Gigi’s Cupcakes, which is donating 150 cupcakes, Olive Garden, which is donating an Italian feast, MW Cleaners, which is cleaning and altering all of the dresses and pressing all of the men's suits, Giving Gown Foundation, which donated all of the dresses for the girls, MaK’s Shuttle and Car Services, Beyond Fringe Salon, and more.
Since many of their clients have never attended prom or even had a chance to wear a pretty dress or suit, T.E.A.M Abilities wanted to give them a night of wonder to feel as special and have a memory to last them a lifetime. “Having the opportunity to dress up, be catered to and have a carefree night of fun and dancing is something we feel will have a lasting impression on not only their lives but the lives of their loved ones who care for them day in and day out,” said Hernandez.
